Nature friendly kids

This year the 3rd class of our school participate in the project called . Countries which participate in this project are Poland, Turkey, Romania, Greece. It concerns the role of stutents to the nature and how they can protect it.
Nature can manage itself. Nature can renew itself. As a human species, we have to keep up with nature’s calendar and nature’s own functioning. With this project, we want to provide this awakening for our students aged 7-11. We want to create respect for nature and its rules.

 Την σχολική χρονιά 2019 2020 το Β1 ασχολήθηκε με το έργο Games in the school yard.H συνεργασία ήταν μεταξύ Ελλάδας, Τουρκίας, Ιταλίας.


Games in the school yard

This project focuses on games in the schoolyard. By playing games children gain experience and come into touch with their environment. Games are necessary for their physical, mental, emotional development and socialization. Through this project we want pupils to realize that children from other countries can play similar games.  Our activities will be based on the ‘project’ method and teamwork. Pupils are going to communicate with pupils from other schools of Greece and Italy through teleconferences, escaping, in this way, from the classroom borders and daily routine. Participant classes will be A, B and D classes of primary schools.

Aims

Pupils are expected to

  • build communication and cooperation skills through participating in team games
  • develop respect, responsibility and solidarity through playing individual and/or team games
  • familiarize themselves with games from other countries and spot the similarities and differences between the games of their country and those from other countries
  • realize the importance of games for their physical and mental health
  • understand the timelessness of games

DECEMBER

Working groups formation.

Game categorization into individual/team games.

Christmas cards exchange among partners.

 

JANUARY-FEBRUARY-MARCH

Presentation of two different games each month.

Pupils get to know the game rules and play the games.

The participating countries present the games through teleconferences that will be arranged accordingly.

 

APRIL

Games in various Works of Art.

 

MAY

Making of an e book presenting all the games the participating countries dealt with.

 

JUNE

Project evaluation by teachers and students.

Project dissemination through partner school websites.

Through this project we want pupils to realize that they play games common with games from other countries and to find any similarities and differences between them. Partners from Greece and Italy are going to participate to this project. Our activities used will be based on the ‘project’ method and on teamwork. Pupils are going to communicate with pupils from other schools through teleconferences, escaping, in this way, from the classroom borders and daily routine. Participant classes will be A, B and D classes of primary schools.

Το συγκεκριμένο έργο αναφέρεται στα παιχνίδια στην αυλή του σχολείου. Ο λόγος που έγινε η επιλογή αυτού του θέματος ήταν γιατί το το παιχνίδι αποτελεί μια δραστηριότητα με την οποία το παιδί αποκτά εμπειρίες, γνωρίζει το περιβάλλον του και αποκτά σχέσεις με αυτό. Είναι απαραίτητο για την σωματική, ψυχική και συναισθηματική του ανάπτυξη.Βοηθάει στην κοινωνικοποίηση των μαθητών. Με το έργο αυτό θα θέλαμε οι μαθητές να κατανοήσουν ότι παίζουν κοινά παιχνίδια με παιδιά άλλων χωρών, βρίσκοντας ομοιότητες και διαφορές μεταξύ των παιχνιδιών τους. Στο έργο θα συμμετέχουν συνεργάτες από Ιταλία και Ελλάδα. Θα χρησιμοποιηθεί η μέθοδος project και η ομαδοσυνεργατική, αφού οι δράσεις μας θα είναι συνεργατικές. Θα έρθουν σε επαφή μέσω των τηλεδιασκέψεων με μαθητές από άλλα σχολεία, φεύγοντας με αυτό τον τρόπο από τα όρια της τάξης  και την καθημερινή ρουτίνα. Οι τάξεις που θα συμμετέχουν θα είναι Α΄, Β΄, Δ΄δημοτικού.

16th October: World Food Day (A celebration in every school with fruits and/or vegetables)

Famous nutritional ambassadors of our country (A simple page or a Padlet where we could introduce some kinds of food because of it we are famous ,for example Greece is famous for “Feta” cheese, olive oil, “ouzo”,etc.
  • Local food (Padlet or simple page with food of our region, for example “akanes” is a local sweet that is made only in our region ,in Serres, which is the capital of our region)
    Special dishes for special occasions (A Padlet with columns where every school/country can upload photos with special food ,for example, a special dish for Christmas in my country or a special dish for an occasion that is celebrated only in my country)

    • Food Pyramid(A Page where we could upload nutrition-related activities we’re going to do in our classroom)
    • E-Twinning Food Pyramid (A Padlet where we could upload photos with pupils who eat food from every category of nutrition (meat, cereals, fish, sweets, fruit, vegetables, eggs, milk, e.t.c.) .When we upload all the photos we need ,we could make a collaborative nutritional pyramid in every school, with these photos)
    • Food in mother tongue and English
    • Salad Day (Every school  will propose a salad recipe and then we’ll made some of them –we could talk about who will do what- and we can have a Salad Corner in our class for one day with these salads and put flags-craft near every salad )It could be an opportunity for an online event!)

    EMOTIONS COME EMOTIONS GO 

    This project is about emotions

    In this page you'll find information on how our project is going to work month by month.

    • By end of December 2018, create a video of the students introducing themselves to the rest of the schools. 
    • In January 2019, use Wordart  (https://wordart.com/) to brainstorm words related to emotions/ feelings and upload your pictures created on the page.
    • In February 2019 use Canva (https://www.canva.com/) to create posters to illustrate different emotions as well as ways to calm strong emotions. 
    • In March 2019 use Kahoot! (https://create.kahoot.it/) to create online quizzes about the subject.  Students can use their tablets or a computer lab in the school.
    • In April 2019 use Little Bird Tales  (https://littlebirdtales.com/home/default/) to create a story collaboratively on the same theme.  Each school will create a page of the story.  At the end we will have a story created by all the schools.
    • During the same month all participants will share their pictures or photos compiled whilst working on the project.  Teacher administrators will create a movie with all the material.
    • By May 2019 we start giving online feedback to each other using the e-twinning portal.
